2018 Medicaid Promoting Interoperability Objectives

For the 2018 reporting year, Medicaid Promoting Interoperability requires attestation for eight objectives, each consisting of one or more measures.

Medicaid Promoting Interoperability Measure Workflows

Workflows have been developed to assist Sevocity users with the 2018 Medicaid Promoting Interoperability objectives and measures. Although there may be other methods capable of meeting the measures, only the recommended workflows are approved to meet the measure requirements.

These workflows are designed as a supplemental resource and are not a substitute for the program eligibility and requirements provided by CMS. For full program requirements, refer to CMS’s Promoting Interoperability Programs website.

Terminology Specific to Medicaid Promoting Interoperability Workflows

Reporting Period: Date range selected in the current calendar year for which the 2018 Medicaid Promoting Interoperability Report will be queried

Patient Seen/Seen: A patient having one or more of the following encounters that is finalized by an Eligible Professional: Multi-System, Exam, Procedure, Initial OB Visit, OB Follow Up Visit, Postpartum Visit, or Urgent Care

Objective 2: Electronic Prescribing (eRx)

Objective 3: Clinical Decision Support

Objective 4: Computerized Provider Order Entry (CPOE)

Objective 5: Patient Electronic Access to Health Information

Objective 6: Coordination of Care through Patient Engagement

Objective 7: Health Information Exchange

Objective 8: Public Health and Clinical Data Registry Reporting
