E/M Coding Modifier Enhancements
The number of modifier fields on the Coding tab has been increased to four for the following visit and encounter types:
Visit Types
- Postoperative Follow-up
- ED Services
Other: all Categories
Encounter Types
- Initial OB Visit
- OB Delivery Summary
- Multi-System encounters with a designated Place of Service of:
- Assisted Living Facility
- Home Services
- Long Term Care
- Skilled Nursing Facility
Previously these visit and encounter types were limited to one modifier field for coding purposes.
