2022 Improvement Activities
Improvement Activities (IA) promote ongoing improvement and innovation to clinical activities. Currently there are over 100 improvement activities for ECs Eligible Clinician: a Medicare provider who qualifies for MIPS participation to choose from, focusing on areas such as population management, beneficiary engagement, and care coordination.
Improvement activities are divided into weight categories that reflect the complexity of the activity. Each activity is weighted with either a high or medium value. For the purposes of reporting, all improvement activities are self-attestation measures consisting of a Yes or No attestation.
The documentation and workflows required to meet Improvement Activities are primarily implemented through policies, protocols, and services at the clinic; however Sevocity has identified tools and features that can assist providers and practices with achieving their improvement goals. These recommendations are designed as a supplemental resource and are not a substitute for the program eligibility and requirements provided by CMS. For full program requirements—including data validation criteria and suggested documentation—refer to CMS’s Quality Payment Program website.
